We spent the day moving furniture from the flat in Erith.  Two strong missionaries, Elder Allen and Elder Moodley from Welling 1, came to our assistance.  They had to take the bus to come help us.  Elder and Sister Sanders, a new senior couple, were there to assist.  Elder Wallace and the missionaries took a dresser to Welling 2 and a freezer to the Sanders place.  We, the Sanders and I carried what we could to the landing of the building. We waited patiently for the van to return.  We decided to go buy lunch for the missionaries at a bakery near by.  We left furniture and other items unattended (a blessing if someone wanted anything) and walked a few minutes to a small bakery and bought ham sandwiches on rolls and chocolate covered cookies with a 1/2 candy bar on top.  Upon the return of the van, we finished loading the van and handing out food, said our goodbyes, and we took off home thankful for the missionaries help. We were able to say goodbye to a German lady we meet that came and stayed at Accommodations for three weeks.  She is a joy to be around and I love her. I offered her water, granola bars and apples.  She would only take an apple.

We made it home for Crawley Stake Conference at 4:30 pm and a BBQ dinner after the meeting.  Crawley Stake is 40 years old and they celebrated by inviting a newly elected mayor and his daughter.  The daughter did not want to come but did not want to leave after making new friends.  I was able to shake hands with the mayor.  He told us that it was his second day on the job and his first assignment as mayor. Dinner was hamburgers, pulled pork, hot dogs, brownies with drinks.  They hired someone to cook the food.  All of the talks were on Ministering. One sister talked about her daughter that was in the hospital for a week and the ward took over helping tend two children (one a new born) and providing dinner.  Reminded me of the time Emily as in the hospital for a month and the ward sisters doing the same thing for us with watching children, dinners, and drives to the hospital. We were able to take take Tony and Carol Davis with us, a temple missionaries.

We arrived in time to the Accommodations to watch a movie called "100 Foot-Journey".  We had seen it before but enjoyed the time to relax and be with fellow missionaries.

  1. We loved that movie, too! Partly because it was set in France, but also because of the sweet message it conveyed.
