We arrived at the office at 8:30 am to do a little office work and to move a flat in Hastings. A tender mercy was being able to rent a flat in 24 hours. Sister Harkness, Elder Wallace and I took off in the van about 9:30 am. We wanted to leave earlier but I needed to talk to the letting agent about signing the tenancy agreement. Travelling to Hastings in a van with all the round-a-bouts is not my joy riding. We were not able to travel on the motorways so it takes time to go 45 miles. We were able to see the ocean in Hastings. Elder Wallace dropped Sister Harkness and I off in Hastings to sign the agreement and Elder Wallace went to load up the van. We found the M&N Letting Agency and took only a few minutes to whip out the mission presidents signature stamps and sign the contract. We headed for the ocean and got to walk on sand, pick up rocks and sea shells and listen to the ocean with the sun on our faces. It was a glorious 20 minutes before Elder Wallace and the four missionaries, Elder Hruby from Idaho, Elder Kapolnais from Hungary, Elder Tollestrup from Canada, and Elder Rhee from Washington DC picked us up. We went to the new flat and helped unload suitcases, pillows and blankets besides checking out the flat. We went to the old flat which was just a few minutes from the new flat to take another load to the flat. Sister Harkness and I stayed behind and helped finish packing and cleaning the kitchen and spraying the bathroom for black mould. The five missionaries returned and finished packing the van and we made one more trip to the new flat. Now it was time for some energy! FOOD! Missionaries love to eat. We walked by the Oregano Leaf Pizzera and decided to stop and eat lunch. We bought a 10" pizza for each missionaries besides drinks while the three of us bought 13". It was the best pizza we have had in England. The pizza was baked in a fire brick oven. We were able to watch the process of making and cooking. Notice the pictures below. After lunch Elder Kapolnasi and Elder Rhee had to take the train back to their flat in Maidstone. The three missionary amigos loaded up the van with a bed sofa which they had to demolish to get out of the house (The question we ask: "How did they get the couch in the flat in the first place?", beds and frames to be dumped at the rubbish. The best part was an elderly man helped us at the Hasting Rubbish & Recycle unload the mattresses and couch. And I was so thankful for his help.
We arrived home to leave the van and prepare for Institute and dinner. We did a simple dinner of cheese, biscuits and crackers, carrots, tomatoes, celery with Ranch Dip. The YSA love cheese and crackers. Sister Doughty brought drinks and treats. She even brought me two Utah Truffle Bars and Reese Pieces as a little gift. The Lord does bless us with the energy and strength we need to accomplish the needs of the missionaries. It is nice to be able to pamper them at times.
