We attended the Worthing Ward today with the YSA on their Grand Tour of the wards in Crawley Stake. After church, the Worthing Ward provided a lunch for the YSA. They provided a feast for the YSA with gamine, pork, chicken sandwiches with BBQ, salads, chips, drinks, cake and brownies for dessert. The YSA looked like they had a fun time beside a game that got everyone to mingle and visit. We had 30 YSA and just about doubled the Worthing Ward for church.
I had Elder Wallace drive me the ocean from the Worthing Ward because it was less than 1 mile from the church. It was raining and windy but I didn't care. We had umbrellas and walked a short distance to the ocean. Spent a few minutes and gathered a few shells and knew that the ocean wasn't much fun in the cold, rain and wind when you are dressed in your Sunday best. We arrived home just before 5 pm. I whipped up a batch of chocolate chip cookies and decided to visit a few neighbours on a road near our place that we walk. We wanted the families to get to know us. We first went to Ian and Theona. Theona saw the cookies and I told her why we had come and gave her the cookies and she invited us in and we had a wonderful visit. We just hit it off. We are kindred spirits. Before we left, she gave us two goose eggs to eat. She has chickens, geese, dogs, cats, birds...she love animals. They have one son with children that visit but are older and on their own. It looks like a lots of people live there because of all the cars but Ian fixes part-time since he has retired. I can hardly wait to visit them again.
And we got to FaceTime with Susan and Robert and found out what was happening with their family. And FaceTime with Dan and Julia about their travels to Manchester, Dan's cold, driving on the left side of the street and YSA.
It has been a very good day!
