Flower on bushes outside of the gate
we enter each morning. |
We had a chance to sleep in until 7:00 am. As we lay in bed you can hear the sounds of jets as they fly near the house. Starting at 6 am the jets start coming in ever 5 minutes. It was a beautiful spring today. Clark was anxious to get a haircut all week and it finally happened. Afterwards we went into the office to vacuum and clean the flat. We walked around the temple grounds and saw the flowers in full bloom. I had to take pictures! I could not resist adding these flowers to our blog!

We hurried home to change and attend a baptism at the Crawley Stake Centre. Her name was Johanna and had two children with no husband. One of the children is about 2 1/2 years old and is on the go constantly. The RS President and a councillor (English spelling with two l's) tended the children in the back of the RS room during the meeting and after the baptism. Johanna seemed pleased to get baptised. I could not understand her worth a darn with her accent and speaking so fast. I just kept nodding my head when she would talk to me. She was sitting all by herself on the front row and I went to sit with during the meeting. It was a special time to hear the talks on the baptism and the Holy Ghost. We won't be there tomorrow at church for Johanna confirmation. We have a YSA assignment on Sunday in the Worthing Ward. On our way home from the baptism we did our grocery shopping. We bought lots of veggies for making salads this week because we have a busy week coming up with MLC and Zone Conference.
We had plenty of time for a nice walk. We asked David Bridgstock were to walk. He told us about a a subdivision of houses about 200 feet on the left of the main road. The problem is the small streets where cars can travel 50 miles an hour and no sidewalks. We had to cross the busy street several times to make it to the gated subdivision. The houses were tucked away in this area by trees and bushes. We couldn't believe that it was there. We have travelled past the place for almost 7 months and didn't realise it existed.
We had the opportunity to be the Seamans tonight. Elder Wallace washed the car today so it will rain tomorrow. But the car looked great for our date with the Seamans. We drove to Nutely to a place called Anne's but with our luck it was closed. We drove about a mile in the other direction and stopped at one of the first restaurant we found. (I left my phone and home and missed great pictures) It was a lovely restaurant. It had white table clothes and wine glasses and cloth napkins. We all had different dishes. I happened to get the Fish Linguine that had clams, shell fish and a shrimp with all its body parts. The food was delicious after I got over the shrimp. We learned that Elder Mike Seamans has an aggressive type of lymphoma and was told that they need to go home for treatment. Sister Kim Seamans was in shock and teary eyed. They were waiting for a call to get their flight plans. Not sure when they will be going home but I would suspect in the next few days. The Seamans bought our dinner when we were going to buy theirs. It was fun being with the Seamans and I will miss them terribly. We hugged and I made sure Kim had my email address. I love that girl And we love Mike. They are in our thoughts and prayers.
Elder Wallace called Dennis Doyle to see how the lung biopsy went. To our surprise Dennis was on oxygen. It was fun seeing Dennis and Mary Kaye and learning about his health and get the hometown news. Clark thanked Dennis for the fancy printing on an envelope and funny birthday card. Thank you Dennis and Mary Kaye for thinking of Clark. A funny thing happened during the week - talking about mail. Clark received a notice from the post about a letter that needed £1.50 and to be picked up. Clark kept saying it was a birthday card for him - and the rest of the story - after picking up the letter and realising it was from one of the missionaries with something for driving. We all had a good laugh over that one.
Are you sure it's not 50 kilometers per hour? I don't anywhere where 50 MPH would be allowed except on the auto-routes. I'm assuming you gave Clark his haircut. The flowers are beautiful!
