Friday, 2 March 2018

We are having a cold front in the UK.  It snowed most of the day but did not deliver very much snow in our area.  We dressed warm and prepared for the freeze.  I put on dress pants and warm socks today to keep warm.  It did the trick at work.  We spent the day in the office except when I went shopping to Sainsbury with Sister Harkness.

We went to Parry and Luanne Duplock's home for dinner.  They set an appointment a month ago for us to come.  Parry and Luanne are a wonderful and happy couple.  His only son passed away last June.  What gave him peace of mind was the gospel and the love that was shown from ward members and co-workers.  That did not happen when his father passed away.  Even the priest of his church couldn't console him.  His wife was a member of the church but not active at the time told Parry about her church.  The rest of the evening was spent talking about Parry and his story about joining the LDS church and the joy and comfort he received.  He talked about his dreams and his heartache and how the Lord blessed him.

We spent the rest of the evening playing games with the Parkers and Sister Harkness.  We played a game of Five Crowns in the Accommodations.  We weren't the biggest winner or loser but had lots of fun and laughter.
