Lunch at The King & Queen
Lunch with Elder and Sister Hewlett
I forgot to post the last three days.

Tuesday, 6 February 2018

Today is Dennis Doyle's 76 Birthday!!! We wish for him all the joy the world has to offer.  We miss this couple so much along with other family and friends.  We have tried to reach him but our efforts have failed.  AND we finally got to talk to him on his birthday!!!

We were up at 5:30 am.  I cut Clark's hair and we showered, dressed, prayed, ate breakfast and was out the door at 7 am.  It is cold today!!!  This week is suppose to be the coldest it has been since we have been in England.

This is the our first time to Portsmouth.  We got to see lots of water and different kinds of boats as we drove into Southampton to the first of four flats lined up by Sister Hewlett. We met Elder and Sister Hewlett at the Zone Leader's flat in Southampton and brought them a newer love seat, pillows, and blankets.  They were so excited to load their old couch in the van.  Elder Werle from Germany and Elder De Tobal from Utah had their old couch outside and the flat ready for the new couch.  I love to see missionaries happy!  They are so appreciative of anything we do for them.
Leaving Portsmouth

Old ship without water to float.

Water is low and boats are sitting on the
bottom of the inlet.

Next stop was to Elder Mee and Elder Shih in another part of Southampton.  We had them load a wardrobe from their flat that was not being used.  Our next stop was taking a table and two chairs to Elder Taarere and Elder Misalucha.  They had us take two bags of leftover clothes and two Ikea chairs.  (Tender mercy - Sister Madden called and needed two chairs. We were going to go to Ikea and get them.)  And our last stop was in Portsmouth at Sister Manuel from New Zealand and Sister Mamuad from the Phillipines.  They received the wardrobe besides a desk light, floor light and night stands and a small wicker chair.  The sister missionaries flat door was the smallest we have ever seen in England.  Worried that the wardrobe won't fit but it did.  The stairs was another issue.  Elder Hewlett was on the bottom of the stairs pushing the wardrobe up the stairs to Elder Wallace.  Miracles do happen and that was one of them.  Everyone was fine after the workout!

extra kitchen items.  They were so happy to get a hand blender
to make cookies.

The Hewletts took us back to Hamble for lunch.  Sister Hewlett and I took off to a shop for a few minutes and I realised very soon that Sister Hewlett loved to shop.  We stopped at the Blue Bijou.  The building was an old house built in the 1600's  and there were five levels to the house.  The owner said that the place was closed which I could believe because the door was wide open. She let us come in and was willing to let us purchase something.  We spent time talking to the lady and we asked about some painting on the wall and she had done them.  She was also the owner of the Blue Bijou. We told her that we were going to lunch at The King and Queen when she said she own it also.  Sister Hewlett picked out several things and asked for the owner to hold them because she didn't have her purse.  We will be back to Hamble for Senior Conference next week.  We walked through a portion of the town and had lunch at The King and Queen. We spent a few hours visiting and left the Hewletts to head home.  We arrived at 4:30 pm and left the office at 6 pm.  It has been a long day.  I did get a short nap in the van.
