Clark and I woke up at 4 am. We noticed how light it was outside. Clark showed me what was happening in the skylight above our bed. The moon was big and bright. We hope to see the Super Blue Blood Moon tomorrow if the sky stays as clear as this morning. Clark was able to go back to sleep while it took me a lot longer. Up and out the door before 8 am.
We went back and forth wondering if we should move the Assistance missionaries into the new flat. We learned that there was problems with carpet in one of the bedrooms. We had loaded the van with mattresses, bunk bed, dressers, microwave, vacuum, couch, bedding including pillows, and blowup beds since Friday. We thought we were going to move on Saturday and got word that the place was really a mess. The missionaries talked us into moving because they had been cleaning all morning and their cars were packed and they had two other missionaries to help move. They didn't want to waste another day moving and cleaning. The flat needed cleaning and Sister Madden (she is a hard worker) cleaned the kitchen. I helped clean a small amount but spent my time organising and put dishes and food away for the elders. Part of the time I stayed down in the parking area to watch the cars while the missionaries and Elder Madden and Elder Wallace unpacked the van. We had blocked some cars and I had keys to move the van or any of the cars. All the men left to get the first load from the Elders old flat while Sister Madden and I walked a block to Sainsbury Grocery and bought pizza, drinks, biscuits, grapes for lunch. Elder Walker is a celiac and we bought him his own pizza and cookies. It took two loads to get all the furniture and other household items to the flat. Elder Wallace and I took
of to go to Mitchem and bring two missionaries bedding and blowup beds. Last Friday night at 4:45 pm we got a call from two Elders who said they thought they had bed bugs. I worried about them all weekend because there wasn't anything we could do. First thing Monday I got hold of a pest agency that will visit the flat on Wednesday. I called the missionaries and told them how to clean the flat. I got a call late last night from our hardworking missionaries that they had been working all day cleaning and vacuuming the flat. They sent pictures of the bugs. Yes-it was bed bugs. We met Elder Brown and Elder Rosenvall and gave them blowup beds, pillows, sheets and blankets called duvets. They were so thankful. They were very humble and thankful missionaries. You could tell that they had done a lot of cleaning. They had 7 garbage bags full out front with stuff leftover in their flat. The rubbish department will only take two garbage bags a week. Elder Wallace and I loaded the van with all the garbage bags. I did stop to think about the bed bugs in the bags and if there was any! The Local Council will take the old mattresses next week if they have plastic on them. Wish we had time to be longer with the Elders but we needed to get home. We asked the Elders if they needed anything else. They needed a microwave and a tender mercy was we had one in the van to give them. They were so happy!!! That made us feel so good that we could pamper these missionaries for the buggy week they have had. They even showed us the bug bites! Elder Rosenvall had the most bug bites. The bites were all over his legs, back, arms and neck. His companion only got a few bites.
4 am today we awoke and saw the full moon through the skylight. |
Dennis Doyle keeps telling me to use the flash. This is what the picture above looks like with a flash. Tomorrow will be the Super Blue Blood Moon! |

We passed over the Thames going to Kingston. Notice the blue skies. |
I meant use your flash in the restaurant, but this is even more interesting, to see that high, half-timbered ceiling! Glad you finally had some blue skies to brighten your outlook!
