Up and at 'em and to the office at 8:10 am. Sister Gorgas beat us again to the office. A tender mercy is having Sister Gorgas and Sister Harkness take some of the things off my plate working with flats. I am so blessed to have the help. Sister Gorgas is organising all the flat folders and putting labels on them depending which mission they are going to. She is also doing the Council Tax for the flats. And Sister Harkness is taking care of all the unsafe flats by getting the missionaries to test the smoke alarms and CO2! We had 49 flats unsafe just because of the testing and posting on the missionary portal. Well, we should have less unsafe flats with Sister Harkness doing the job. She had been a dear friend and confidant. She is one of the most caring and loving people and willing to help with anything. Reminds me of Edie and Betty and how we give and take all the time. Our philosophy was, "if I have it and you need it, its yours". Emily has now become a part of our giving and taking schemes along with Sister Sorenson. It helps to have them close at hand. I know that I could call anyone on the circle and block and they would give me the shirt off their backs. Well-the coat off their back if its winter and the sandels on their feet if it summer or their food in their cupboards. Missing you all as I am writing this blog!!! To name a few: Bette, Rosalee, Jolene, Barcy, Mary Kaye, Kathy, and all my ward family.
Elder Wallace and I attended our second District Meeting today. It was so touching and felt the spirit so strong through these wonderful missionaries. We brought leftover mac & cheese, veggies, rolls, cheese, and ham beside chips and cookies. Afterwards we took Elder Jones and Elder Skaue to their flat in Burgess Hill. We took the van so we could take a chair for their flat. I also supplied cleaning products for them. We did a flat check and they had hardly no cleaning products. That reminds me that Sister Beauchamp called and asked if she could purchase cleaning products for her flats. The missionaries don't want to spend their money on these items. She said that two sisters were cleaning their flat with water. (LOL) Afterwards, we got gas for the van, dropped of keys and fobs for the closing of 27 Kiln, the last for four flats closing in East Grinstead because the closing of the Visitor Centre. We returned to the office. Elder Wallace loaded the van for his travels tomorrow and I worked on organising (organizing) items for Elder Wallace to take to flats.
Just as were were to leave the office, Elder and Sister Parker invited us for dinner at the Fayre and Square Pub. They wanted to pay because we have had them over for dinner so many times. They are hard working people and do so much for the office and we love them. It was a nice treat to go out for dinner with them. We returned home to do laundry, dishes, read and write on blog. We watched a movie called "The Rescue" were three people are stranded on an island. Two of the people are LDS. The girl has a crush on the other guy and her church friend is in love with her. Good wins! I was able to sit down and watch a little bit and Elder Wallace rubbed my feet. Thank You so much!
