We are a little bit kick back on Sunday morning. Church starts at 10 am and with Fast Sunday you don't have eating or dishes to take care of. The Sun was shining and blue skies when we went to church. It looked so warm and inviting until you stepped outside and it was brisk and cold. We are expecting snow tonight.
We attended the Crawley Ward today. Sacrament Meeting was special and spiritual. We heard from two sisters in wheel chairs and an elderly gentleman bare their testimonies. We had Primary children and all the Bishopric spoke. I have never seen this happen before but the Bishop invited people to come up. The last sister that spoke wanted to come up and talk but she didn't want to climb over the couple because she is so big. It was a tender mercy when the Bishop asked the new couple to come up and bare their testimonies on the same row the heavy sister was sitting. She knew she wanted to bare her testimony all week and was excited to come to church. She felt the Lord had heard her prayer and it was a tender mercy for her be the last speaker. The sweet spirit was felt and tears were shed. Sunday YSA was on Cain and Enoch and the different paths they took. Relief Society President had put the chairs in a circle so we could share. It was my first time with the new RS lesson at the first of the month on Councils. Piper, her first coucilor lead the discussion. She first talked about the different objectives from last month and did anyone accomplish or have any experiences to share. The time went fast while the sisters shared experiences and set new objectives on being like the Savior.
We arrived home to get the potatoes, gravy and turkey breast cooked for "Breaking the Fast". The temple missionaries on fast Sunday have a potluck dinner. We meet at the Accommodations at 3 pm. Charlie and her friend Patu joined us for the dinner. They met us at our flat and we took them with us for dinner. We returned home and played "5 Crowns" and "Blow up the Kittens" (?) We sat and talked about Patu's life in the Congo and how he was able to get out of the country on someone else passport. He said he looked just like the guy in the passport. He first went to Ethiopia and then to the UK. After they left we cleaned up the kitchen together. No dishwasher for us! Well, we do have REAL BODY dishwashers. Writing blogs before bed. Clark is reading!
