Elder Wallace and I spent time this morning frying hamburger and cooking hamburger with marinara sauce. I love the InstaPot especially when you travel. The lid screws on tight. It keeps things warm for a long time. I got to drive to Crawley Stake Center today. Elder Wallace and I drove separately to Crawley. He had to exchange a car with the senior couple, Elder and Sister Beauchamps. (said Beach-ums) Sister Harkness and Sister DeArden came with me.. Sister Harkness got her UK license and she was able to help me on the round-a-bouts. It was very helpful. It was our second Zone Conference. It was fun to see all the senior couples and visit. The senior couples are such hard workers preparing and cleaning up after 125 missionaries. Sister Gubler talked about being Obedience and President Gubler talked about Light. I realized after listening to their talks that I need to make some changes in my life. The Mission Goal is 280 baptisms by the end of the year. They start Zone Conference showing a slide presentation of all the baptisms starting in January. It show how many baptisms a month and gives a total at the end of the presentation. This is the missionaries gift to the Savior this year. I had tears as I saw the pictures of the convert dressed in white ready for baptism with the two missionaries that taught the gospel to him/her. Background music accompanied the presentation. It was a special and spiritual feast today.
Elder Wallace and I returned to the office. Elder Parker, the office manager and I are the only ones in the office with two monitors to work from. I am very thankful I have the two monitors. It does make my life easier. Elder Parker is teaching me what I need to do. Thank goodness I am getting some direction from him and the sisters. Left at 6 pm. It was pitch black when we returned home tonight. Stars and moon where covered with dark clouds. No sign of the sun today-which I miss like an old friend. We had french toast with the baguettes we served to the YSA for dinner last night. It was very tasty. I did have to use syrup on them but I used less than a tablespoon.
Four days without sugar! My mind is starting to think clearer and I feel a bit lighter. I thought I had lost some weight when I took off my brown skirt but realized it was a size bigger than the black one. (LOL and become more humble that it just doesn't matter as long as I am obedient.) It helps that Sister DeArden and I are doing this together. I love her and her soft spoken voice and encouragement. Oh well, time will tell the outcome of no sugar.
The best news of all. Mark and Connie have booked their flight, car rental and Bed & Breakfast reservation. We got to Hangout with Mark and Connie. It made our night.
