Set the alarm for 5:30 am.  We are attending the West Zone Conference in Poole.  We were going to pack the car and leave by 7 am.  I wanted to work on a few files before we left.  The phone started to ring at the office.  It was President Gubler.  He needed me to email a file to the General Council in Frankfort.  A tender mercy that we were at the office that early and hadn't left.  Those impressions are worth listening to.

Long drive to Poole.  GPS said we would be at our destination within 2 hours but took us much longer with traffic.  Glad to arrive.  Zone Conference had already started.  We were able to sit down and hear the last of President Gubler's talk on Light. Very en-lighting! President Gubler had given a week long class at BYU Education Week.  He is a wonderful teacher and has prepared himself with scriptures, quotes, and pictures. We heard the beginning at the East Zone Conference but had to help with lunch.  Lunch was a full Thanksgiving Dinner with turkey, mashed potatoes, gravy, dressing, sweet potatoes, peas, corn, carrots, rolls, Yorkshire pudding, corn bread and dessert which I stayed away from.  I wanted a foot rub more.  You could tell that the ward members had gone out of their way for the missionaries.  This is the biggest dinner they do all year.  It was very tasty and a reminder of all the Thanksgivings past with family and friends.

Sister Gubler pulled me aside and asked that I get garments and and a set of sheet for a sister missionary.  She has something medical going on.  Tomorrow I will get right on it.  We had a few moments to talk to the YSA missionaries. They stay in Zone Conference and listen the whole time because they are not as involved with fixing lunch for the missionaries.  We left soon after lunch to get home and work on flats at the office.

I was able to drive some of the way.  Enjoyed the chance of driving on the motorway. Arrived home 6 pm to have dinner and off to see Perry and Dot Furlock.  Perry works on the grounds of the London Temple full-time.  We have become friends.  He has a hobby of building ships.  It delighted him that we wanted to see his work.  He is always happy and with a big broad smile that warms your heart.(couldn't get him to smile for me.)  Afterwards we stopped at Home Base and bought an extension cord and Sainbury to buy salt and pepper shakers with no luck.  Shopping was not futile.  We bought milk and milk.  Glad to be home.

Brother Furlock and Elder Wallace.  He will spend two years
on building his HMS British war ship.
(Her Majesty's Ship)  He has to carve and whittle all the small pieces
and paint them.

Perry and Dot Furlock (pronounced For-lock)
they have rented their flat for 19 years.

  1. That HMS Ship, looks a lot like the HMS Victory which is dry docked at Portsmouth Harbor, as a missionary we toured the inside, quite amazing.
