There was blue skies and some sunshine today and not as cold as a few days ago. The frost has made all the leaves turn a bright red, orange and yellow. It is a beautiful time in England. Sister Harkness (H)and Sister DeArden (D) went through the Christmas things and hung the Christmas wreath on door. More Christmas decorations to come! (I will send pictures later in the blog.) Elder Wallace and I worked hard in the office. I need help with flats. Sisters H & D said they would help - I just don't know how yet. I was able to talk to President Gubler about flats. We have at least 3 flats to close in East Grinstead. President Gubler asked if we wanted to move to one of the flats. I said no that we are settled and enjoy where we are. The big news is that the Visitor Centre (VC) is closing at the end of December. The Church is looking for many ways to cut back and they fill that we don't have the numbers to warrant keeping the VC open. That was the big news last week. Sooooo...my part is closing the flats of the VC sisters and senior couple and opening new flats.
Elder Wallace and I drove home for a quick lunch at 2 PM. We had apple slices, cheese and fresh beans cooked just right. One thing about not eating sugar I am craving more vegetables. We packed our temple bags and attended the 4:45 PM session at the London Temple. It was so fun seeing the Seamans and Elder Blodgett. Elder Blodgett works at the VC and he work in the temple also. Loved the small session and felt the sweet spirit. I appreciate how the spirit teaches when you take the time to attend the temple.
Dinner was a green salad and a chicken bake like a hot pocket but much better. The crust on the pies are delicious. After dinner I ironed Elder Wallaces's white shirts for the next week of missionary work. We spent time talking and unwinding from the day. We watched a show called 'Good Witch'. It is very insightful and has wonderful messages. It is a Hallmark production.
