Work-work-work was our day at the office. Praying that I will get a handle on the flats. I am learning by trial and error. Not big ones yet.
The Parkers and we went to the Tarana restaurant in Lingford for dinner. The restaurant it serves Thai and Indian food depending which door you walk into. It was the best dinner we have had so far. Elder Wallace had sweet and sour chicken and I had sweet n' sour duck with coconut rice. YUMMY!! Delicious!! Besides delicious food the atmosphere was so inviting and decor was upper class with reasonable prices. Our neighbors, the Bridgstocks have a two grandsons working there and we got to talk to one of them. We came home and finished the laundry and ironing. Big day tomorrow.

Two months ago we left for our mission. My, oh my! How times does fly!!! Overall we are enjoying living in England.
Elder Wallace and I were up and out the door at 8 am. We picked up the van and headed to the Wandsworth Stake which is in Peckham, Catford, Clapham and Crystal Palace. It is considered London and the Thames is the end of our mission. We first drove to Elder and Sister Pearce's flat. He is the owner with his brother of the Purple and had the newest Purple bed they are making sent to him to try it out. Luckily we are the benefactor of the 2 single XL beds. I can't wait to try it out tonight. The Pearces changed flats with the sister missionaries in the same building area the past week. The Pearce's new flat is on the main floor and they have a bigger kitchen to work out of. They work with the YSA and fix lots of meals. Now-to make a long story short, we drove home with the van stuffed with mattresses and 2 dilapidated dressers and a box of stuff from four flats and a storage unit.
It was now 3:15 pm and the Pearces want to go out for lunch but it was getting late. We drove to the mission office getting rid of the mattresses and drove home to take our Purple mattresses. (Can you tell I am excited.) I felt bad all the way home that we didn't have lunch with the Pearces. Well - we did have lunch on the Pearces. They gave us 3 energy bars and bottle of water. Thank you Pearces. We made it home and David Bridgstock was in the right place at the right time to help bring in the Purple mattresses. Elder Wallace returned the van while I cooked french bread pizza and made a green salad.
Cleaned up and off to Crawley Stake to Vocal Dimension Chorus with 36 women. They sing barbershop music and was awarded a silver award at a World Competition. They sang like angels. There was an intermission with punch and cookies served.
Then a group called inClude sang and signed. They were people of all ages with or without challenges or handicaps. Very touching! The Dimensions finished off the evening with a few more songs. There are two Mormons in the group and The Dimensions use the Crawley Ward to practice besides being fund raiser for people that have had stokes and relearning to speak. It was a wonderful evening and so glad we went. Sister DeArden called at the last minute and wanted a ride. Sister DeArden and I are going on a no sugar cleanse for a month. We can eat one dessert a week! Anyone interested let me know.
We arrived home after 10 pm, got ready for bed, prayers, scriptures and off in our separate beds. We don't have a bed framre for the Purple and I just had to try it out. Well, at least we are in the same room.

And YES - I had sweet dreams or what I would call a sweet night. Woke once and not again until 7 am which was a miracle. Purple is amazing. I didn't feel any pressure on any part of my body except my neck. I like to read in bed and I need to sleep on one pillow tonight. Elder Wallace and I took a walk this morning enjoying the beautiful scenery, mild weather, totally blue skies with the sun shining. A morning to remember.
We attend the East Grinstead Ward today. Fast Sunday and we are fasting for Jan Wallace who is having back surgery on Tuesday. I do love her. She is an amazing woman. I do love to listen to the testimonies of the ward. It was just what I needed today. I felt the sweet spirit. It seemed like everyone that talked gave me something I needed to hear. Joyful tears! We met with Brother and Sister Reimer after church. They are the YSA Sunday School teachers. We asked if they would hold a Home Evening for their class once a month. They agreed and we will help with a dinner. We will hold it at their home and provide a lesson and games. It sounds so fun.
We attended a Break-the-Fast Dinner with the Visitor Centre (this is how England spells center) couples, mission office workers, and missionaries. I didn't have an assignment for food today so I brought some candy that looks like Starbursts called Fruit-tella. Tastes very similar.
I am home writing the blog while Elder Wallace is taking his nap. Love that guy with all my heart!!! It is 4:45 pm and its almost dark. I want to go to bed right now.
We went to a fireside at the Visitor Centre tonight. The guest speaker was Wayne Gardner. He talked about how the Gadfield Elm Chapel, the oldest chapel in the church was rebuilt. He was one of the major players and a group of people put together a Trust and bought the property which consisted of 11 acres. A farmer bought 10 acres and they kept 1 acre with the chapel on it. Brother Gardner was very entertaining and had many pictures and stories including Elder Holland, Elder Eyring and President Gordon B. Hinkley. The church was given the church after Brother Gardner and others donated and built the chapel.

Tonight is a full moon. We will send it over to Utah in about 7 hours for all our Utah family and friends. Picture doesn't even do it justice! |
Is the mattress actually purple, or is that just its name?
