Clark and I had a wonderful walk this morning. Had a good cry and felt better the rest of the day. The sun was shining throughout the day with high clouds. It was a special treat to see the sun. I am not a good cloudy and rainy day person.
Quite and peaceful day at the office. Elder and Sister Corbett and Sister Harkness and DeArden went to Zone Conference in Bristol. Corbetts wanted to say goodbye to the missionaries since this is their last Zone Conference. They are leaving on Oct. 25th. I know how to open and close flats and have been able to make a new spread sheet for flat visits and furnishing needed in a flat. I am learning the names of the Zones and got a map of the Mission and started visualizing where everything is. Clark memorized all the zones the first few days at the office. I also had a chance to read all the material we give the missionaries when we open a flat. We will be doing some major remodeling our office areas when the Corbetts leave. We spent a major part of the morning organizing and throwing out things from the closed flat. Clark and I were alone in the office for about 3 hours. Elder and Sister Parker wanted to do errands and go to the bank. We ate leftover Mac & Cheese for lunch. We went to check out Bookers. A smaller store like Sam's Club except it is all food. Didn't find anything to buy but maybe later.
The Visitor Center Missionaries brought over a sister and an older gentleman.. W had a nice visit and she told us her conversion story. She is a firefighter. She has been god fearing and prayed to the Lord to help her know which church to join. She passed several church and ended up at one of ours. She just knew that this is were the Lord wanted her. She has since spent many hours of missionary work and helped bring five others to baptism. She is excited about the her new found faith and is on fire. She told a story how the Holy Ghost had prompted her to look up while she was sitting in the passengers seat of the fire truck. As she looked up she saw a child in the street. She screamed and teh driver stopped the truck. She would usually get made and scream at the parent yet this time she was in control and just told the parent she needs to hold the child's hand when this close to the road. She says the Holy Ghost has been blessing her life since she was baptized. She will visit us next week. Another very interesting thing. There was a set of scriptures left by another missionary that I almost took home with me. I decided to not take them. This sweet sister wanted them and was so excited to get them.
We went to see Sister Steed and Sister Gates flat. They were saying they had terrible mattresses. We will be buying them new mattresses. Its a cute flat and they love the area. We invited the sister missionaries out for dinner. The wanted to go but were doing splits with another set of sister missionaries so all six of us went and got Peri-Peri Chicken at Nandos!!! Had a fun time talking to the sisters. They are darling. We met Sister Biesinger and Sister Torgensen. All of them are from Utah which is very interesting.
