Tyler Green's 40th Birthday and he is spending it with us. Sunday we were put to the test in getting four adults ready for church with one bathroom. I did go for a walk because my back is achy in the mornings and walking helps. Tyler and Marjorie got some time to themselves too.
East Grinstead Ward is friendly. Many came up to meet Marjorie and Tyler and ourselves. This was only the second time attending the ward. We got introduced and felt so welcomed. Many people came up before and after church to talk to us. There is only one ward in each church in the Grinstead Stake. Everyone stays and visits for a time. It was the Primary Presentation and they did such a nice job. The children each gave a short talk. That is what can happen when you have a small Primary. We were impressed by their talks and presentations. No silliness at all.
We came home and decided to go see Hever Castle. I put a roast in the oven and Clark pealed the potatoes before we left. It took us about 30 minutes to arrive at the Hever Castle. It is located in the village of Hever, Kent. It began as a country house built in the 13th century. From 1462-1539 it was the seat of the Boleyn family. Anne Boleyn, the second queen consort of King Henry VIII of England, spent her early youth at Hever. The Astor family bought it and renovated it in from 1903-1908. The paneled rooms house fine furniture, tapestries, antiques and is regarded at 'on of the best collections of Tudor portraits after the national Portrait Gallery' by David Starkey. The grounds were amazing. Here are just a few pictures below of Hever Castle and the beautiful grounds.
We got home just in time to get the roast out of the oven and prepare Sunday dinner. It was so fun to have a bigger table to serve dinner on. At 7 pm we headed to the London Visitor Centre and celebrated two sisters and Tyler's birthday. Wow! Tyler was surprised when a strange woman came out with a small cake with lighted candles and new friends singing Happy Birthday. We ended the night with playing 5 Crowns. I lost again. Marjorie was #1 with Tyler #2. We like to make sure our family is happy and taken care of.

Hever Castle - no moat (not a medival castle)
Bush cleverly cut to resemble a deer.
Can you see the bird?

This was unusual tree and shape. It is massive.
A wonderful stroll through the gardens and lawns!
