Elder Wallace and I took a long walk down a country lane first thing this morning.  We saw cows and mowed down corn fields and geese flying in a v form making lots of noise. We did two loads of laundry before we left for the mission office.  We took a late lunch and picked up dry cleaning in East Grinstead.  The jacket I took to have dry cleaning looks the best I have ever seen it.  Don't know what they did but the clothes look wonderful.  Clark and I made a wrong turn and took another 15 minutes driving  and we landed back in East Grinstead.  There are so many windy roads and greenery and large houses.  At least it was a nice drive.

Talked to Marjorie and Tyler.  They are flying to France this afternoon.  They are bringing more clothes for me and a few others things.  It will be wonderful to see them on Saturday. They will be with us for five days.  We will get to go to London on Monday.

The Seamans came over for dinner tonight.  They are working in the London Temple and we were on the same plane flying to England.  We picked them up on our way home from the office.  Dinner took a while to cook.  We had a steak pie with mashed potatoes, Yorkshire pudding, gravy and green salad with Ranch Dressing with a Squash drink.  It was so fun having them come over.  The only problem was we had sheets and pillow and laundry all over the flat.  I hurried in and straighten up the room before they came in.  Kim and Mike are wonderful a people.  Kim was a school teacher and just knew how to help me prepare dinner.  Dinner was a success and tasted so good.  We had a half an energy bar for lunch thanks to Nanette. She sent us with a box of bars before we left on our mission.

Life is simple and uncomplicated living in a small place.  It is more challenging at the office but each day we are learning and growing into the job.  Our testimonies continue to grow and we are loving the people.  We are having a time understanding the Kings English especially with the older people.

  1. Just know that we check your blog each day, so please continue to write about the things you are doing. We love it. Bette and I walked this morning (Tuesday) and hope to keep it up since it was so easy. She signed up to feed the missionaries tomorrow, so she'll plan the menu and I'll help with what she decides, then we'll use our house to serve -- not only does she have the leather couches in her front room, but Randy's mom gave Courtney boxes of little boy clothes and they are in the front room, too.
Denny is subbing at Mt. Jordan today. Yesterday he went to Mt. View to golf alone -- he was glad he did, though he'd have had more fun with a friend!
