Thank you family and friends for your love and support. Clark and I woke at 3:30 am and at 3:50 am we decided it was time to get up and finish packing. We are so fortunate we did. We did laundry, finished packing, getting ready for the day, last minute cleaning besides taking time for breakfast eating fresh scrambled eggs from our hens and grape juice from the concord grapes in our garden.
We arrived at the MTC at 10:39 am. We drove our car through the check-in and a Elder met us and told us where to park. After parking the car, we were ushered into the MTC building and processed getting name tags, room assignments, food cards, maps and agendas for the week. It was quick and easy. Missionaries everywhere to help and assist us. They even helped us take our luggage to our room. When we arrived at room S2 W309 the missionaries had us get our scriptures or tablets, Preach My Gospel, packet and off we went to orientation. The day has been full of meetings and training and eating and visiting and meeting new senior missionaries. Clark was made the District Leader. Clark has three couples to oversee and help.
There are over 2500 missionaries. We met Elder and Sister Hendricks which is a brother to Julia Skoubye and at dinner we hugged Sister Becky Hansen. Becky is health and so happy. She glowed. We attend FHE which was a talk given by Elder Bednar in 2011 at the MTC. It happened to be a Sunday and Christmas day. He talked about the Character of Christ. We went back to our room and got in exercise clothes and walked over to the new MTC building. It was an exciting 1st day at the MTC. One we will never forget. We are full fledged missionaries with badges. There are 72 senior missionaries and one of the biggest groups this summer.
