Elder Wallace and I slept into day.  we didn't get up until 7 am.  One interesting interesting about England time-they use military time.  England doesn't need to put am or pm in their brochures because 2 pm is 1400.  I am okay with it until you get to 1600 to 1900 time.  I am sure that I will get use to it.  Dinner should be at 1700-I think!

We did a session at the London Temple.  Very tender mercy was that we got to be the witness couple. Very lovely!!! The London Temple is well maintained for a temple that was announced in 1953 and dedicated in 1958.  We love the accents of the English people.  We are asking some to repeat things to us and asking them to slow down and say it again.  It has turned a bit cold here and the flowers are starting to wilt and turn brown.  Glad to have seen the flowers in full bloom around the temple before they are taken out.  We have now been in England a week-7 days!!!

We ventured out to Standen House and Gardens where we bought a National Trust cards.  The National Trust cards get you into over 500 properties through Wales, Scotland, and UK.  When families cannot afford to keep the family property because of taxes they donate it to the government.  The castles, houses and gardens are open to the public.  The cards will get us unto all the properties beside free parking.  We hope to see many of them in the South of England.

Standen House and Gardens are nestled in the Sussex countryside.  James and Margaret Beale built this rural retreat in 1890.  Mrs. Beale had 5-hectare (12 acre) hillside gardens. (pictures below)

We went to dinner with the Parkers in East Grinstead and had our first FISH AND CHIPS!!! It was at a little place around the corner from the East Grinstead Church.

These tiny flowers so perfect and growing all over the gardens.  I took a picture with my hand so you can see how delicate and small they are.

This gentleman was playing Chopin on the piano when we walked in.
Reminded me of Dad when he played that piece.

Both House and retreat for someone that wants to be alone.  There is a bed, stove, chair.  Not much more!  It was built out of the things found on the property.
