These darling sister missionaries came for dinner.  Sister Andrade
and Sister Oliveira.  They brought with them amazing sweet spirit
and before leaving bore testimony and left a sweet message.
This is one of the benefits of going on a mission and interacting
with all these wonderful young missionaries.

Watched General Conference at the Hyde Park Chapel.

Sunday, 7 October 2018

General Conference - I attended Women's Conference at 10:30 am at the Hyde Park Church.  I became very homesick seeing temple square, conference center and hearing sweet music from the young women.  We had the Bullocks, Ernstoms and Dransfield come have an English Dinner and a big thank you for helping us move two weeks before.  We had dinner at 3 pm so we could hear and see the opening of Sunday General Conference at 5 pm.

I have been fighting a runny nose and a cough that won't leave.  I am loving the new flat.  I have been trying to make it fill like home. We also walked over to Foubert's Restaurant and paid £50 to secure dinner.

Received a call from President Checketts at 11:30 pm to go pick up a missionary at Heathrow whose stopped for a layover in London.  The plane had problems and they cancelled the flight until the next day.  He was from Barcelona, Spain and was going to go to Brazil on his mission.  Elder Wallace arrive at 1:30 am with the Elder and let him shower and showed him his room. He didn't speak English very well and it was hard to have a conversation with him.  But he was a delight to have.

The Tech Elders spent the day with the Elder from Spain.  We had all three for dinner and was so grateful to have a Cottage Pie already to cook up and serve.  Elder Wallace picked up some rolls with mixed vegetables.  I am doing less and less with fruit for dinner and following the English and only have savory then sweet for dessert.  We were very thankful that the tech elders could speak and understand the Spain Elder.  A tender mercy when Elder Ernstrom took the Spanish Elder to the Heathrow Airport.  We were very tired from the night before.

Elder Ernstom and I took our drivers test.  We both passed.  When I realized I passed I got so excited I was jumping up and told and told the guy at the desk that miracles happen.  There was a crowd of people in line waiting to take the test and they started to laugh at me.  Even the lady that placed me in a booth called out my name and asked if I had passed.  I had been studying on the computer for about 2 weeks on and off.  We have been so busy at the office that we come home late and eat a little something and literally flop into bed.  I would be studying and fall asleep. The workbook has a test you can take after each chapter.  I only passed a few of them.  I decided to go and just do my best.  I did spend the night before study and got up early and studied.

We were invited to the Bullocks to play Five Crowns.  She served nuts, popcorn and 7 Up.  Elder Wallace won and I was the biggest looser.  We have so much fun with the Bullocks.  They are from Highland, Utah.  I wanted to  stay at the office and get work done while Elder Wallace said we have to have some fun.  He was right.  We have been working 10-12 hour days.

Spent the day organizing the basement storage area where we keep the copies of the Book of Mormon besides all our supplies.  We packed the van for our trip on Wednesday to open a flat for the new couple coming in a few weeks.  It took us most of the day.  Elder Christensen and his wife helped us organize the copies of the Book of Mormon and other pamphlets.  We were so grateful for their help we had them come for dinner along with Elder Gumbo and Elder Norman.  Elder Gumbo is from somewhere in Africa and Elder Norman is from Idaho.

Dinner at the Ernstroms.  Yea, I didn't have to cook.  I invited Elder Gumbo and Elder Norman to come on Saturday instead of Sunday because Sister Ernstom had invited the Bulloks and themselves for dinner.

Worked in the office all day preparing for Boot Camp.  Took the Dransfield to Costco after the office closed.  We shopped for food for Senior Boot Camp tomorrow.  The Blodgetts came to see up and the Ernstoms in the office today.  They are flying over to France to be with a sister missionary that is getting married.  We love the Blodgetts.

Senior Couple Boot Camp!!!

Spent the early part of the day preparing the setup for the luncheon.  I was in charge of preparing the dinner and putting the handouts.  So glad everything went well.  At 3 pm we adjourned to attend The National Gallery and did an auto guide  of "The Life of Christ".  Afterwards three hours we were driven to Foubert's for dinner.  We had a wonderful time being instructed by President and Sister Checketts and Elder Wallace talking about flats and I talking about meals for Zone Conference and giving assignments.

Haircut from Emma Neals!  I was desperate for a haircut and it felt so good to be pampered and look nice.

Elder Wallace drove to London Temple to deliver leftover temple clothes and talk to Mike Kelly about storing cars at the temple for the mission for a short time, extra fridges that we might receive for the mission.  Went to Bevloir Letting Agency in Hayward Heath and watched Elder Wallace get the tenancy papers signed on a new flat.  We drove to the flat and unloaded the van for the new senior couple for Crawley Stake.  Their names are Elder & Sister Rowley will arrive in a week. We went back to the office and worked until after 6:30 pm.  Sister Irish's food was so tasty tonight.  She gave us fish, mac & cheese, carrots, beans, potatoes.  Falling asleep typing.  Good night for now.
