We talked how we need to call Rex and Claire on later today when they are awake and wish them a very Happy Birthday.  We ready ourselves and packed for a trip to London. We first drove Sister Sutherland to Gatwick Airport.  We met the Parkers back at the office, caught up on our emails and then took off for London with a load full of boxes for the London Mission.   The boxes contained financial records, closed flats, and lots of Book of Mormons and literature in different languages. (35 boxes)  We still have other files to take to London at the end of the month.  We visited with the office staff, met Visitor Center Sister Missionaries and after Elder Reese walked us over to our new flat as we carried pillows and wheeled over luggage. The apartment is going to be perfect.  We found out the our flat has a half bathroom off the living room for guests.  YAY!  I was a bit concerned about the sleeping arrangements when guest come.  We had a chance to get acquainted with the place and see what we need to bring from out flat.  We don't need much at all.  We took the tube to Leicester Square for theatre tickets.  We decided to go to "The Mousetrap" which has been playing for 66 years non-stop.  We walked to St. Martin's Theatre to make sure we knew where the play was located. During time we stopped at McDonald's and had a light dinner.   Sister Parker had heard the Covent Garden Market.  It is a lovely place with lots of shops and entertainers performing music, magic and tricks.  We will go again!  Fun place to shop for gifts.

Love the Sister Missionaries!

I was up early to take a bath.  I enjoyed the hot water and reading the "The Infinite Atonement".  Sister Parker is always so prepared.  She had brought blueberry muffins and we provided the apples.  Elder Parker and Elder Wallace found a small store with juice.  Our first meal in our new London flat!  We packed and walked our luggage and pillows to the van at Hyde Park.  We found a place to buy Hop-on Hop-Off Bus tickets.  We spent the rest of the day on the bus seeing London.  We are learning what to have guest do and not to do.  It was the day they celebrate the Queen's Birthday.  We spent quite a bit of time waiting for the crowd to disperse.  On our way home we found a Costco and bought food for the YSA Grand Tour.  So glad that Parkers were fine with it.  We arrived home in time to go to dinner at the Burkinshaws.  Pizza and green salad with Mangum bars for dessert.  We had one game of Five Crowns which Elder Wallace beat us.  I was ready for bed and sleep.

  1. We saw "The Mousetrap" in London a couple of years ago! We also got on the Hop-on/Hop-off bus for that same tour!
