Early to bed and early to rise - makes a woman healthy, wealthy and wise. Maybe true and maybe not! But we did rise early to get to the office. I kept thinking I had a hair appointment at 8 am today. Elder Wallace brought home the van so I could have the car. I decided to check my appointment to make sure it was on the 15th. Well for some reason I kept thinking it was today. I checked my schedule and read that the hair appointment was for the 20th of December. I had my last appointment on the 15th of November. I had to chuckle about it because today is the 14th. Boy-was I way off. Well, it got me up and going. I took time to have hot oatmeal for breakfast with raisins and cinnamon. Elder Wallace had his bran flakes with raisins.
Elder Wallace and I hadn't been to the office but a few minutes when missionaries arrived. It was a little past 8:15 am. I decided to use their skills and had them help set the tables, folding napkins and placing silverware and cups and favors around. The tables looked just like the day before and the day before that. The only thing different was the favor was a red Lindt chocolate. I went back to work for a few hours to try and order things for flats. I became very frustrated when I tried to order a fridge/freezer and I could get a charge card to work. I was able to chat with someone about why I could order the fridge. Well, the company will only take UK charge cards for delivery but if I go into the store I can use a USA charge card. Tomorrow I will try again to buy a fridge again.
Serving lunch for the missionaries goes smoother each time. We now have a system. I have been serving up the turkey. I just couldn't eat the same lunch three days in a row. I had a turkey sandwich and green salad. I did get to cut the cake for dessert and peal potatoes for the next day. I helped clean up a little bit and went back to the office. President Gubler talked to me about moving a few flats. It is going to be fun and challenging.
Elder Wallace was involved with driving the gray van to and from Lingfield Train Station. It is about 10 minutes from the mission office and temple. Clark said he needed help transporting missionaries and would I help. I got to drive to Lingfield twice in the morning and twice in the evening all by myself. I only took one wrong turn which I was able to turn around quickly. I love driving besides getting to know the missionaries better. Elder Wallace and I were the last to leave the office today at 6 pm.
We came home happy and tired. We didn't feel like eating and had an orange and a cookie. I made icing and put together a gingerbread house. I am in charge of decorating cookies and gingerbread houses at the East Grinstead Ward Christmas Party. Turned out! Sister Leavitt and Sister Nielsen are going to help me assemble them tomorrow for the party on Saturday.
