Attended church at East Grinstead Ward this morning. Before church started the sister missionaries told us that they had to talk to us. They had just been in an accident. They were pulling out of the drive way to their building and a mail truck had parked in front of the exit. As they were slowly trying to see around the truck a car sped by and clipped the front of the right side of the car taking off the grill. It left a huge scratch on the other car. We hugged the sisters and told them not to worry. That is way we have car insurance. Sister Nielsen thought she would have to pay for the accident.
Sacrament Meeting consisted of different people reading scriptures and the congregation sang two songs after each reading. A ward member talked for a short time about Joseph and his feelings about the birth of Christ and raising the Son of God. The last song was accompanied by a violin and clarinet. Sweet spirit and we enjoyed being at church to worship our Savior.
We took Sister Nielsen and Sister Leavitt back to their flat and saw the car. We took the sisters to their appointment and said we would come back and duct tape the front grill back on so they could drive the car to other appointments during the holidays. After we duct taped the front grill, we picked up Sister DeArden and went to President and Sister Gublers for dinner. We made Raspberry Pretzel salad without the pretzel using ginger biscuits. Sister Gubler made rolls and Shepard's Pie. Sister DeArden brought a veggie tray and their daughter and son-in-law, Liz and Porter made a cake and served it with ice cream topped with hat caramel topping. Robin and Cathrine, friends of the Gublers in the Crawley Ward came for dinner. They have been members for 6 months being baptized on May 11 which is Robin's birthday. That is all he wanted for his birthday was to become a member of the church. We had a lovely time with Sister DeArden reading from a book the Christmas Story with pictures and music. The pictures were of the Gublers family children and grandchildren depicting different parts of the birth of Christ.
We arrive home and opened up the letters from our family. How sweet it was to have children and grandchildren send sweet messages of love with pictures. Thank you so much. We spent a few minutes making Breakfast Casserole for tomorrow and doing the dishes. We are waiting to talk to all the family at Tyler and Majorie's home.
