Got up early and read the news, Facebook, email, and write on blog. I thought I heard rain! How can that be when yesterday was such a beautiful, sunny, blue sky day! YEP - rain! Clark slept in till after 7 am and still feeling under the weather. Sore throat and chest cough! We still arrived at the office at 8:30 am. We read emails and made a few phone calls before we left with the van to load up junk from a sister's flat. We took a bed, bed frame, small table, coffee table, and clothes hangers to the rubbish. Came home for lunch and off to the office again except I sent Clark without me. I cleaned up the house and did a few loads of laundry. I got a call from Clark saying I need to order a freezer now for a senior couple. He came home for me and I returned back to the office and ordered the freezer.
Dinner was at the Siam Thiam(?) We had a dinner party for the Locks, Costleys, and Blodgetts who were working in the Visitor Centre. Elder Lock, the director of the VC and lives in Bristol, didn't show up because of health issues. He will have a triple bypass on the 8th of January. We are keeping him in our prayers. We had Thai sweet and sour chicken. Another place to take visitors.

Clark took off to the Blodgetts to help them pack the van. They live on the 5th floor of a building. The elevator was not working and they had to pack all the boxes down 5 flight of stairs. I got to stay home and clean the flat. It is surprising how fast I can clean it. I even got all the ironing done while watching "When Calls the Heart".
We met the Seamons at the London Temple and drove to cliffs of the Seven Sisters at Birling Gap. Speechless! Beautiful and amazing sights! See pictures below. We got to walk the beach and see the Atlantic Ocean and the amazing cliffs made of chalk. I brought home a white rock made of chalk. It was wet and made the water turn a white milky white in my hands. The cliffs erode .4 % a year. In the year of 2056 the Visitor Centre will be gone and to show how much rock will erode from the cliffs it had a big thick white line on the floor to show where the erosion occur. You are not allowed to walk close to the cliff and don't walk close to the cliffs by the sea. We went out to dinner with the Seamons afterwards at The Harvester. We love the restaurant. I got a delicious hamburger and fries. They even had a salad bar smaller than Sizzler but similar.
Clark came home and took a nap. He is still not feeling well. I listened to "When Calls the Heart" and worked on the puzzle the sisters sent me. Sister Leslie Bridgstock came over for a visit and brought a letter from Pam Dale. It was so good to hear from and get a beautiful Christmas Card. Pam - it is hard to have it get dark at 4:30 pm. Can't wait till we have more daylight. Made brownies for Sunday Dinner and worked on blog. Time for bed.

Sister Seamans checking out the rocks and shells. Notice Elder Seamans and Elder Wallace are the two figures in the background. |
Happy to see the Seven Sisters with Clark. Someone said they loved Seven Sisters more than the White Cliffs of Dover. |
It does look fascinating!!!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful pictures! We hope Clark gets better! The Dupaixs are stuck in South Bend, Indiana, home of Notre Dame. It's 6 degrees and snow is expected tomorrow.
