We attended East Grinstead Ward today. No YSA showed up for class. Several of the boys were attending a missionary seminary for a few days. We visited with Brother and Sister Riemer for a bit and attended the Sunday School class on Noah.
We love our Sundays and especially our Sunday dinners inviting new missionaries and getting to know them. We had the Office Elders, Sister Harkness and Elder and Sister Davis over to eat and enjoy an English dinner. We had roast, gravy, mashed potatoes, carrots and peas with a Yorkshire Pudding. Sister Harkness brought brownies and we provided the ice cream. The Davis' are from South Carolina and serving a six month mission in The London Temple. We found out that they have gone on 18 cruises. Yes, we love to cruise too! I loved Elder Davis not leaving before for washing the dishes and Elder Wallace drying and putting away the dishes while the women visited. (I want the Davis to come back for dinner!) It was a great evening with the fire crackling on the PC sounding and looking like the real thing! Well, it is the real thing in video.

We had to have Sister Harkness in the picture! Love that smile! |
This poster was up on the wall in the church! I love and miss President Monson. Love the message of what Institute can do in ones life. |
Morning started early for us! 4 AM. Great time to talk to Nanette. We had a nice visit with Jeff and Nanette. We are excited that they will visit us in 6 weeks. We were able to go back to sleep for awhile. Got up and cut up veggies and made Ranch Dip. We ate homemade granola for breakfast. As we were leaving the house in the car I forgot to put on makeup. Elder Wallace would not go back. I was so glad that I carry lipstick. A little lipstick on the checks and a lot on the lips and no one will ever see that I am not wearing eye makeup.
We had staff meeting today at President and Sister Gublers' home. We first ate soup, veggies, dip, crackers, grapes, and rolls. Sister Gubler made cookies and banana chocolate cake. The staff meeting discussed flats and what that looks like as the missions split. Looks like we may be closing flats because numbers are down. We have a lot of areas with two sets of missionaries. We may have to look at only one set of missionaries in a ward. More to come and be flexible. President Gubler spent a few minutes discussing what might take place in July for us. We may be moving and if so we won't know for sure until May. Time will tell.
Elder Wallace drove the van to and from our staff meeting.
We arrived home after 5:45 PM. Came home and had a half of a toasted cheese sandwich and half an apple. Made Raspberry Waffle Dessert and took it to the East Grinstead YSA at the Riemers home. Jacob was the only one that showed up until about 9 pm when Brother and Sister Riemer's two daughters showed up. Sister Riemer put on a spread tonight. Lots of different food to eat. I was to make dessert yet she made cupcakes, carrot cake cupcakes, and meats, several different pastries, veggie tray, dip...I was so full at the end of dinner. We talked, we visited, we ate, we enjoyed each other.
We eight of us in the van going to Staff Meeting! |
